#REBIRD : The Puffin X LPO beanie is back!
Today, we would like to tell you about the #REBIRD operation, in partnership with the LPO. For the second year in a row, Ubac supports the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) with a limited edition beanie.
The profits from these sales are entirely donated to the LPO. Last year, 1 384€ were donated. This year, we hope to do even better. And it relies on you!
The LPO, one of the most important associations for the protection of nature in France
With a century of commitment, the LPO is today one of the most important associations of nature protection in France. It counts 570 000 members, 7 safeguard centers and the network Refuges LPO is now the 1st network of ecological gardens in France with 33 000 grounds: gardens, green spaces, private or public parks. The LPO which acts for species protection, spaces preservation and environmental education is resolutely turned towards action.
In December 1999, the ship Erika sank off the coast of Finistère. Faced with the scale of the disaster, the LPO decided to suspend all its other activities and all its employees and volunteers were mobilized to the rescue of 75,000 oiled birds and their transfer to emergency care facilities.
After years of legal fight of the LPO, the Court of appeal of Paris recognizes in 2010 the ecological damage, decision which makes henceforth jurisprudence!
In 2020, after having alerted for years the French public authorities and filed a complaint with Europe, the LPO obtains the suspension of glue hunting. The association's fight continues so that these suspensions are transformed into a definitive ban.
100% of the profits donated to the LPO for the purchase of a puffin beanie
The Puffin beanie is available from December 11 to January 05, 2021 in pre-order on ubac-store.com and on boutique.lpo.fr.
The idea? Produce just enough, and, we hope, to be able to give even more to the LPO. It remains nevertheless in limited edition!
For this second edition of the operation #REBIRD, the new puffin beanie is inspired by the emblematic bird that adorns the logo of the association. Two colors, one size, and unisex; it will keep you warm this winter, and the next ones because this beanie is very resistant. Once you have worn it out, you can send it back to us to be recycled again.
Buying a puffin hat is therefore doing a good deed for nature in France.

Ubac is already actively involved in reforestation in South America on a daily basis through its sneaker collection with the operation 1 pair purchased = 1 tree planted.
