Meet Yohann et Manon, dancers.
For one of our latest shoots, we worked with Manon and Yohann, two dancers with inspiring stories.
Manon
A very shy child, Manon discovered dance at the age of 8. It quickly became a necessity, so much so that she joined the dance school of the Marseille Opera at the age of 13, as a student athlete. The following year, Manon entered the Conservatoire Supérieur de Danse de Paris, where she had completed all her studies.
Deciding to make it her career, she discovered community life and long classical dance productions at the Norwegian Ballet in Oslo. After experimenting with this classical repertoire, Manon went freelance, enabling her to explore new facets of dance and to be nourished by different artistic worlds.
"Dancing in nature means feeling its vibrations. In wide open spaces, I immediately want to get moving and let myself be carried away by what's around me."
With a desire to express what she has felt in her career, Manon started writing a solo. The idea is to retrace in reverse her states of body and mind, from the present moment to her birth.
Yohann
At 31, Yohann divides his time between Paris and Saint-Étienne. His passion for dance began at the age of 7 when he arrived in France and discovered extra-curricular activities: while accompanying his friend to a dance class, he discovered the discipline that he hasn't left for 22 years.
Yohann's background is in hip hop, but his career has enabled him to travel and draw inspiration from a variety of influences while learning about himself. What inspires him today is the body's ability to tell stories without speaking, the possibility of meeting new people and different cultures and histories.

As well as working with the Diptyque company in Saint-Étienne, Yohann is currently choreographing his own show, Les essorés. His aim is to use clothing to address the invisible violence we suffer.
It was a real pleasure to work with Manon and Yohann. We met two wonderful, inspiring and caring people with whom we were able to spend some wonderful moments and create some magnificent images!
